I love incorporating windows into collaged imagery. This one is an original photo that I transferred to fabric. It creates an opening into imagined stories. What’s inside there? Will they go back? Perhaps the birds have landed in a new place.

How I create a paper collage: I begin by prepping the watercolor paper substrate. I gesso it and stretch it. The individual pieces applied to the collage are all original prints and direct painted pieces of fabric or thin paper. Elements in this work have been created by photo transfer to fabric, monotype printing, relief printing, screen printing and stenciling.
