When I visit the river and see herons by the water’s edge, I am intrigued with how they fit into the patterns of light, shadow, trees and water. This composition gave me an opportunity to make the bird and the patterns par of one another.

Monotype collage.  Tissue paper, Rice paper and fabric hand printed with acrylic paints; monotype and  screen printing, direct painting with stencils. Collaged on 140# watercolor paper. Black/white double mat, opening 20”H x 16”W. Outer dimension 24”H x 20”W. (Sized to fit standard size 24 x 20” frame. Frame is not included.) This is an original, one-of-a-kind artwork.
