“The music is not in the notes, but in the silence between.” This description of music, most frequently attributed to Mozart, speaks to the mystery and the power of music. To give voice to that mystery, I have created liquid patterns and shadows. They invite the viewer into stillness and a way of knowing that is beyond logic. Just as a musical composition has distinct parts that weave together in pattern and harmony, this composition has distinct parts, with repeating patterns and areas of overlap. It contains both voice and silence.

Monotype printing by hand and direct painting with archival acrylic paints. Collage construction and machine stitching and quilting. Finishing: bound and fabric-backed. The back has a hanging pocket and a rod, for traditional hanging tapestry presentation. All collaging is with archival matte acrylic medium, (which is invisible) and also protects the surface.
