A detailed bird’s nest dominates this composition, encased in a simple house shape and flanked by windows. The nest is a gel medium transfer of an original photo onto muslin, collaged into the piece and filled with detailed machine stitching. The nest it empty. But this is where it all begins.

The work is created with archival acrylic paints and mediums on fabric. Image-making includes monotype printing, resists, stenciling, direct painting, and photo transfer on muslin. Collaged and sewn construction with surface machine stitching for texture. The surface is sealed with a coating of acrylic medium.

Finishing: bound and backed with eco-felt fabric. The back has a hanging pocket and a rod, for traditional hanging tapestry presentation.
